Jobs with Justice of East Tennessee Dues Structure
(Revised July 2, 2009)
Members of JwJET are expected: (1) to share JwJ’s commitment to economic and social justice, (2) to turn out for at least five actions called by other member groups and allies of JwJ each year, (3) to attend or send a representative to monthly membership meetings, and (4) to pay annual dues. The dues schedule for organizations is set out below. For more about JwJ’s activities and principles, please see our website at: <www.jwjet.org>.
Individuals
Category 1 – Regular members $ 35
Category 2 – Students and Unemployed $ 10
Unions
Membership for labor unions is figured on a sliding scale based on the union body’s membership. Annual dues are:
Category 1 – Over 5000 members $ 500
Category 2 – 2000-4999 members $ 250
Category 3 – Under 2000 members $ 100
Faith Groups and Grassroots Social Justice Organizations
Membership for faith groups and community organizations is figured on a sliding scale based on annual budgets. Annual dues are:
Category 1 – Faith/community groups with annual budgets of $250,000 or more $ 500
Category 2 – Faith/community groups with annual budgets of $100,000-$249,000 $ 250
Category 3 – Faith/community groups with annual budgets of under $100,000 $ 100
NOTE: JwJET does not want dues to be a barrier to membership for organizations that share our values and want to work with us, so adjustments can be negotiated in appropriate cases. In the case of other coalitions, for instance, we are open to an exchange of membership in our respective organizations. We are also willing to take into account certain in-kind contributions, such as donated office space, contributed mailings, robo-calling, etc.
