On April 15, fast food workers will lead a movement of low wage workers across the country in a day of strikes for $15 and a union! We're joining with Show Me 15, our local fast food organizing group, and United Campus Workers for a day of action to make history. Be sure to RSVP with the national coalition here: april15.org
Tennessee leads the nation in low wage jobs, from fast food workers to adjuncts on its public campuses. Our coalition is part of the movement to end our poverty economy and win living wages, unions, and dignity for every worker.
The morning will include a strike by fast food workers on Cumberland Ave., and a demonstration at the Haslam Business building on UT campus. Buses will leave for an evening action in Ferguson, MO from there, and those who stay behind can participate in a day long teach out led by adjunct instructors and members of United Campus Workers.
